TWI Upgrades Integrity Schools Video Recording Capability with NETmc Marine DVRs
1st Apr 2020
TWI Training and Examination Services,
The internationally recognised training provider, has placed an order for two
digital video recorders (DVRs) from Scottish video specialists NETmc Marine.
The new DVRs will replace old DVD recorders and better reflect the technology
integrity engineers will find in the field during offshore operations.
The purchase
coincides with TWI moving its South East Asia underwater training facilities
from Thailand to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and will enable data to be transported
for review via hard drives rather than fragile DVDs.
NETmc Marine
DVRs have a well-earned reputation for longevity, with many customers still
operating DVRs that were purchased 15 years ago. The latest DVR offering from
NETmc Marine is a flexible device. Clients can buy a basic unit and add options
in the field via a soft key and can even rent options, such as Coabis
capability. The system is available as a 1U single channel DVR or a 4U multiple
channel unit. The 4U unit can also be upgraded to multi-channel in the field.
TWI
Underwater Training Team Manager, Marek Wojcik said, “NETmc Marine DVRs are well
known in the integrity market and, with our relocation to Kuala Lumpur, it
seemed like a perfect time to upgrade our DVR systems to expose our trainees to
this technology.” A spokesman for NETmc Marine said, “We are very pleased to
have been given this order by such a prestigious training school. It gives our
products exposure to a worldwide audience of new inspection personnel and,
subsequently, potential customers.”
